    Description

Up for your consideration is a Gustavsberg (of Sweden)
    ceramic
plate commemorating the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment held in Stockholm, Sweden. The plate is white and is decorated with a medium blue design. In the center is a white figure with arms outstretched against a blue circle. The figure is surrounded by a laurel wreath and the words Only One Earth. Around the edge of the plate, it says United Nations Conference on the Human Environment.
The plate measures 8 1/2 inches across and weighs 16 1/4 ounces.
The back is marked in black: Gustavsberg Anchor mark. Then, there is a rectangle with the following inside:  This Bone-China Plate from Gustavsberg is Made in Connection with the United Nations Conference on the Human
Environment Held in Stockholm 5-16 June 1972 with the Aims to Identify the Most Urgent Environmental Problems and Obtain Agreement on Actions to Deal with Them. Finally, it says Benporslin - VDN-B555 - Made in Sweden.
The plate is in good, used condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. When you hold the plate at a certain angle, it is apparent that there is quite a bit of wear to the surface of the plate. However, the plate would display well.
