    About This Listing
Here we have a 1968-70 Gibson Les Paul Custom or Goldtop orange lined original hardshell case.  This is the 1st variant rarest model 0535 'Faultless' on the Gibson literature and more expensive case option version.
Actually I have 2 of these identical cases with another for sale soon here on Ebay.com.  This listing is for the one pictured.   The other one not listed is the same except the interior is more of a yellowish color but same era-version.
So this orange interior case is 100% all original with all the latches and hinges working perfectly.  All 3 glides are there.  The only thing not original is the replacement leather handle w/ tape which is very comfortable to the grip.
The 50's style gold latches have the 'Excelsior' manufacurer stamp on them and there is the 1 modern locking latch which is original as well.  This is the no logo earliest 1968 case version availiable back then and the most expensive case option.
The case is quite clean for its age being 53 years old but it does have nicks in the tolex thruout with some wood showing here and there as seen in pictures.  Still has a clean nicely aged overall look and again very functional.  The interior is quite clean with wear as seen in pictures.
The perfect case for that 68' 70' Custom or Goldtop and no odors.   Structurally solid with NO issues.

2 summers ago we sold 35 pieces to the movie set of Bill & Teds Most Excellent Adventure 'Face the Music'! with Keanu Reeves.
Lot's of guitars, amplifiers, rack gear, they wanted a lot of stuff with LOTS of KNOBS!!
We just landed another movie bit in a film called 'Christmas in Detroit'

An Important Note Concerning LSLP Cases:
Customers were given choices of whether they wanted a shaped case, a rectangle case, or no case when purchasing guitars in this era. How does that matter now? Consider this example: A customer buys a Les Paul Custom that shipped in a rectangular case in November of 1969. Given the choice of a rectangle case or the more expensive shaped case, the customer goes with the shaped case the store has sitting unsold on its shelf. It's an early, 50's style, and orange lined case. See how a case made a year before this guitar can still be "original"? What if a '68 Goldtop didn't sell for a couple years and left a shop with a purple, 70's case? This is just a speculative situation, but I hope you get the idea. Basically, any of these cases could be original to almost any guitar from the era. My guidelines (educated guesses really) are based on cases that appear to be the ones the guitar left the store with. It's all a bit grey.
