We have had several customers not knowing how to install so we have added this requirements for success of your install;
most people do not know how to install a rear rack as they start with a body and not an complete frame with all parts, materials needed;
8 flat washers to cover your sides of shocks, this stop the shocks from fallout of their mounts, not supplied
3 acorn nuts 20mm, three are required for your 1upper and 2 lower shock holders, not supplied
1 muffler extension, this came with the original that made the muffler move out to clear your shock, see in our pics, also suggested 2 flat washers 1/4"-20 size to protect the upper part of rack, not supplied
1-1/4"-20 bolt with flat washer and locking washer and nut, this goes thru the fenders and thru the rack and taillight bracket to hold them in place, must be tightened and secured to stop movement of parts, nut should go thru from inside fender well thru rack and bracket,  not supplied
these are parts required that most buyers do not have a clue what is needed to install the parts or rear rack and then they complain it does not fit,  if this is you case consult a professional that has in-stalled this before and it does fit! if you do not have these parts, do not purchase this part! You will fail to install this properly!
#1- install acorn nut and muffler extension, this is with your bike, on originals bikes.
#2- slide TLB bracket under the tab of the rear rack, the TLB comes with your bike.
#3 insert 1/4-20 bolt thru the bottom of the fender thru both TLB and rear rack tab. then tighten bolt with nut( not supplied ) TLB is not supplied with the rack you should have this on your bike or purchase one to install with this rack!
1991 rear reflector has to be removed, also you have to drill out reflector mounts and extend the wires! turn signal will not work on newer models to long, have to buy new ones to use for installation.
