HP H221 LSI 9205-8e 6Gbps SAS PCI-E 2.0 HBA IT Mode for ZFS FreeNAS unRAID
Listed for sale are HP H221 9205-8e (equivalent to LSI 9205-8e) HBA SAS controller cards that I prepared for use with ZFS. They have been flashed with Avago / LSI 9205-8e IT (Initiator Target) firmware version P20 (specifically 20.00.07.00). The LSI BIOS and UEFI ROM have been removed from these cards to allow faster boot times by not scanning all the drives in your DAS or JBOD enclosure.
This is a full / standard profile card.

These HBA controllers are based on the LSI SAS2308 REV B0 SAS controller chipset and support only PCI-E 2.0 specifications with x8 lanes, providing up to 4000MB/sec bandwidth between this card and your system! The controller has 2 SFF-8088 connectors, each carrying 4 SAS lanes. You will need a compatible cable to connect these to your hard drives or a backplane.
These cards are fully tested in my Supermicro server running ZFS on Linux (ZoL), but this setup is also ideal for other ZFS setups, FreeNAS, unRAID, Proxmox VE, etc. I have fully tested them using all 8 SAS lanes.
