    Description

    For sale a very large (11x196") Esther Scroll written on calf skin in a large (about 22" long with handles) and very nicely decorated case. This set was purchased originally during ww2 by a New Zealander army officer somewhere in the Middle East or North Africa (the case appears to be from Morocco).
    The scroll is old (though its exact age is unknown) and interesting as it is written in a somewhat unusual Hebrew font and some of the wording appears different than that in the traditional Megillah. There also are two drawings inside the text (see photos). The skin is somewhat age-darkened but the text is readable (again, see photos).
    Overall a very unique and interesting item.
