Magnavox/Phillips mid 80's CD player made in Belgium FD2040SL01. TDA1540P DAC.

Description

Rare cd player from the early days of quality cd players.  This one was made by Phillips for Magnavox.
Physical condition is good for age. It has a few bumps snd bruises. Nothing serious.
Working wise it's okay. The sound is nice and smooth.
The loading tray doesn't close sometimes, but if you tap the tray while at the end of the closing cycle it will close fine. I'm thinking it's time for a new loading motor belt.
Also has a high pitch noise while playing. It's a physical noise. Does not play through the speakers. It's not very loud. You can hear it from 3 feet away. Possibly coming from the laser mechanism. It might need lube.
Lastly....when you push program the "ERROR" light illuminates. Not sure why.
Overall it's a great machine. Worth the effort of getting it back to life.
