Description
1 Vintage NOS slide bottle made by Brockway brand , one of the main suppliers of the vintage Coricidin Bottlesused by Duane Allman , Bonnie Raitt and other blues artists.
Brockway model Clear-Glas made in 1950's
New old stock from the 1950s with original screw cap -never used.
See photo of Brockway Clear-Glas cardboard carton , Brockway was the manufacturer of the bottle not the drug maker,
Pre 1963 there is a mailing address on the carton with no zip code; zip codes started in 1963
pics are shown of the 1950's Brockway Clear-Glas bottle with an original 1970's Coricidin bottle which i bought in the 70's from the drug store new.
The Clear Glas has a more squared shoulder so it has a wider playing surface .
To me, i am NOT sure if i could pass a blind test while playing them,
I could pass a blind playing test between any other bottle and the coricidin, even other vintage coricidin bottles, which are lighter and thinner . To me the weight of these bottles are perfect because with a lighter bottle you have
to press harder to keep the bottle in good contact the string, and with a heavier bottle it affects your slide dexterity and precision.
The Clear-Glas bottle has the tone.
i use this bottle for the blues on electric or acoustic, clean or cranked , standard tuning or open G or D with great happiness. I hope you will too.
comments from buyers:
-"Easily took my slide playing to another level with the 50's Clear Glas Slide. ... - they are more than worth their weight in tone! " "the only thing that allowed me to do good fluid slide stuff on a strat and tele (std tuning) with medium/low action so that alone sold me. To top it off, it just has *the tone*."
-''The slide sounds pronounced and honestly worth more than what he charges! ''
