PowerPod Lite Power Meter
Like the original PowerPod, the new PowerPod Lite Power Meter makes training with power easy and affordable. Using opposing force technology, the PowerPod attaches to your handlebars and measures your power by calculation the forces that oppose the rider. Specifically, the PowerPod uses an accelerometer, a wind pressure sensor, an elevation sensor and a speed sensor – all to measure power.
PowerPod Lite vs. the Original PowerPod
The PowerPod Lite works just like the original. Accuracy, consistency and compatibility remains the same. However it differs from the original PowerPod (which sells for 9) in the following ways:
1 rider profile (vs. 4 for the original)
No Velocomp Isaac software available (you can of course still upload your data to Garmin Connect, Strava, TrainingPeaks or any other 3rd party software platform)
No Velocomp PowerStroke software upgrade available
ANT+ only (the original has a Bluetooth SMART option)
In addition, you can always upgrade your PowerPod Lite at any time to a full blown PowerPod (an additional fee applies for the upgrade).
